    Today is Election Day and a number of Sidney residents are heading to the polls to take part in that time-honored tradition of casting their ballot. The polls are open today from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Registered voters in Sidney can cast their ballots at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds, 10955 U.S. Highway 30.     Cub Scout Pack #36 has returned to Peetz, Colo. The Peetz Cub Scout Pack, which consists of nine boys, is sponsored by the Peetz Lions Club. Roy and Brandee Gillham are spearheading the pack and serving as den leader and cubmaster, while Robyn Schumacher is the advancement chair and Loretta Coakley is the treasurer.     The Western Nebraska Community cosmetology department in Sidney will offer free haircuts to veterans as part of the “Red, White and Blue, Honoring You” event. Veterans and active duty military will receive a free haircut Tuesdays through Fridays during the month of November. Active or former military simply need to show their military identification to receive a free haircut.     The following people appeared in Deuel County District Court on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, before the Honorable Derek Weimer: Matthew Mann, age 24 of Sidney, appeared for status hearings on three cases with charges of Burglary, Violation of a Domestic Protection Order, Terroristic Threats and Stalking. A class III, IV, IV, and IV felony; respectively. He pled no contest to amended charges of Violation of a Domestic Protection Order and Terroristic Threats, both class IV felonies.
