Robert J. Shelley

Robert J. Shelley went to be forever with the Lord Wednesday, May 22, 2013. He was born July 17, 1949, in Sidney NE, to Everett A and Leona A (Loebe) Shelley.

The twelveth of thirteen born to their union, he grew up and graduated High School in Sidney. He married Vicki Smith on December 13, 1969 and was blessed with three children.

He served in the US Navy June 1968 through September 1972 on the USS Hornet, USS Samuel Gompers and the USS Chicago. He moved his family to Byers, CO in March of 1973. Bob worked in the oilfield for Toltek Drilling Co and Kopco Drilling Co and later for Flint and Koch Industries, ending his career as a fabrication mechanic with UE Conpression.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents Everett and Leona Shelley, brother John F. Shelley, sisters Clara Ann Glover and Connie J. Hunsicker.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki of Byers CO; sons James (Brandy) Shelley of Byers, CO , Jeffrey (Sjana) Shelley of Byers and RoseZetta (Magnus) Lima of Sidney NE, grandchildren AJ, Hayley, Brady, Samuel and Gracie. Brothers; D. Dean (Mertis) Oregon City, OR, James E (Caron) of Sapulpa, OK, Dennis D. Shelley of Sidney NE. Sisters; Patricia Simpson of Cheyenne, WY, Geraldine Banks of Sapulpa, OK, Judy (Jay) Krueger of Kearney, NE, Donna Rohde of Fountain, CO, Linda Brumly of Las Vegas, NV, Jean (Carl) Madden of Aurora Co. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, best friend Ricco and Friends.

Memorial Services were held for Bob, June 1, 2013 at the Byers American Legion Post #160 in Byers, CO. Interment will be at the Byers Cemetary at a later date.
