BOYS' AND GIRLS' BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Creek Valley swept by Paxton at home

The Creek Valley High school boys’ basketball team couldn’t stop the Paxton Tigers’ juggernaut as it dropped a 69-34 decision in Chappell Thursday night.

The Tigers remain perfect on the season at 11-0 while the Storm slipped to 3-7.

“We learned a lot tonight,” said Storm head coach Roger Behrends. “We did some good things defensively and the kids worked hard all night.”

The Storm was led in scoring by senior Roy Koch as he drained a trio of three pointers for nine points. Brett Godfrey hit for eight points and had a team high five assists while Keith Everitt was good for six points. Chance Morland was impressive for the Tigers as he led all scorers with 27 points.

The Storm will remain in the practice gym over the weekend preparing for the opening round of the MAC Tournament. The No. 6 Storm will face No. 3 Leyton at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
