Creek Valley's Ningen named region principal of the year

CHAPPELL – Patrick Ningen, the principal at Creek Valley High School, was named NSASSP Region V High School Principal of the Year.

"The award was quite an honor," said Ningen, who took over as Creek Valley's principal in August 2009. "We have many excellent principals in Region V, and all of them are working hard to do the same things I try to do for my kids, school and community, and that is to create a safe and exceptional learning environment."

The award is voted on by members of the region. Any Nebraska educator who feels that a particular secondary school principal exemplifies quality leadership in education may nominate that principal for consideration.

The region extends from McCook to Valentine and consists of approximately 45 principals. NSASSP is affiliated with the Nebraska Council of School Administrators and the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

"With this award, he is eligible to fill out an application to receive for the state of Nebraska principal of the year achievement," said Tanya Phillips, Creek Valley's office manager. "We are all very excited and proud of his accomplishment."

"It's very nice to receive an award like this from your peers," Ningen said. "None of this would have been possible without the staff of Creek Valley Schools. They are amazing and are always willing to go the extra mile for their students."
