Commissioners hold special meeting to discuss pavillion problem

Cheyenne County Board of Commissioners held a special meeting Monday to discuss the Pavilion Building at the fairgrounds and the 2016-2017 Cheyenne County Budget.

Troy Kurz, volunteering construction manager for the pavilion building, came before the Commissioners to discuss ventilation issues the new Pavilion building is facing.

A combination of moisture and heat has proven to be an issue for the new building Kurz said. As a solution a ventilation system is set to be installed.

“The ventilation system will be used to create air exchanges in the building and will be controlled by temperature and humidity sensors. The resulting benefit will be longer building life and better air quality,” said Kurz.

The commissioners approved work to commence on the ventilation system up to $5000.00.

Ongoing discussion of the Cheyenne County budget was also on Monday’s special agenda. Cheyenne County Clerk Beth Fiegenschuh said the budget itself should be adopted around September 19.

The next regular Board of Commissioners meeting will be held in the Commissioners meeting room in the Cheyenne County Court House on Tuesday September 6 at 8 a.m. The court house is closed Monday in observance of Labor Day.
