Local School Fares Well In District One-Act

Area thespians sent actors to district competitions recently, earning numerous awards for their acting.

Sidney High School's One-Act Play team garnered a fourth place finish at the Class B-6 District contest.

On the way, all five of Sidney's lead actors received outstanding performance awards. Those actors were Quinn Siler, Jakob Austad, Tristan Ahrendt, Thomas Short and Jack Johnson. Sophie Price also received the outstanding performance award for her voice over in Sidney's production of "Monky Business."

In the D2-6 District, Potter-Dix was the runner-up, with six outstanding actor awards. Those included Erica Bogert, Ciera George, JT Herboldsheimer, Audrey Juelfs, Brooke Moench and Michael Steele.

Leyton returned to the State One-Act competition this week after a 33-year hiatus. The Warriors return via the D1-6 championship and a pair of superior actors, Hannah Vath and Raina Hartwig.

Also competing in the D1-6 was Creek Valley. Pierce Leef, Michael Rahe, Taylor Stupka and Chloe Stupka received superior actor awards.Cody-Kilgore: Garrett Egger, Tatiania Jones
