Chamber to Honor Top Businesses, Supporters

Cheyenne County businesses and community supporters will be in the limelight Friday, when the Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual awards banquet.

From the most influential new business to the citizen of the year, the Chamber will recognize those who have impacted the Cheyenne County community.

“This is an opportunity to honor everything that we as a county have accomplished,” said Chamber President Hope Feeney. “And, it give us the opportunity to highlight businesses and other community members have done to improve the community.”

Feeney said this year she believes more businesses and individuals have come forward to support activities within the community. The banquet, she said, is a perfect example.

““We’ve had a lot of people working together to make it happen. It’s been great to see.”

In addition to awards, the gavel of leadership for the Chamber Board of Directors will officially be passed along, from Past Chairman Steve Wolff, to 2019 Board Chair Natalie Jobman.

With new businesses and greater participation, the Chamber itself has also grown. As of the beginning of the week, membership stood at 288 members, and not all renewals have been completed.

“It’s just exciting to see what’s going on in Sidney and Cheyenne County,” Feeney said.

The Vegas-themed banquet begins at 7 p.m. Friday at the Sidney Elks Lodge. As of Monday, very few seats remained available.
