Sidney Middle/Senior High School Recognizes Students

Sidney Public Schools' top students were recognized at the board of education meeting Monday.

The student recognitions were through the Sidney Middle/Senior High School Monthly Performance Award Program.

The Monthly Perfor-mance Award acknowledges other criteria as well as achievement. These criteria are:

Superior academic performance, (or), dramatic improvement of classroom work, G.P.A. or attitude toward learning.

Exceptional work effort toward a particular class project.

Outstanding Contri-bution to the class.

Leadership exhibited in the class/school.

Citizenship emphasized and modeled.

Service to school.

Recognized for the January Performance Awards are:

7th Grade Danay Peters

Danay Peters is the 7th grade Student of the Month for SMS.  Danay is a strong student who puts her best effort into all subject areas.  She is very motivated, passionate, and kind at school. She leads by example for her peers.  Danay is quick to help other students during class time when they need help or encouragement.  She welcomes the chance to help other students grow during group work. Danay is a wonderful example of what a Red Raider should be! Congratulations, Danay! Danay is the daughter of Robert and Mindy Peters. 

8th Grade Jacob Dowse

Jacob Dowse has been chosen as Sidney Middle School's student of the month for January. Jacob is an outstanding student in the classroom.  Jacob is hardworking and is an excellent role model for other students to follow. Jacob also participates in several extracurricular activities like football and basketball.  All these qualities make him the perfect choice for Sidney Middle School Student of the Month for January. Jacob is the son of Mark and Christine Dowse.

9th Grade Austin Wood

Austin is an all-around excellent student. He works well with any group I put him in and encourages his peers to work at a high caliber. Austin is highly participative in class and holds himself to a high standard. I am very proud of what he has accomplished this far and have no doubt he will continue to that success! He is a member of Sidney High School choir. Austin works at Runza for now and in the future he would like to attend a four year college and get a degree in math and become a math teacher. Austin is the son of Kathy Wood.

10th Grade Ashlee Ringleman

Ashlee goes above and beyond in the classroom. She has not missed a single point this semester, she has a great attitude, and she often helps her classmates. She is involved in golf, Spanish Club, FBLA, and teammates. Ashlee enjoys being a student at Sidney High School and being a part of the golf team. She plans on getting her undergrad in Nebraska and then transfer to Colorado State to become an orthodontist. Ashlee is the daughter of Jim & Nicki Ringleman.

11th Grade Chloe Sawyer

Chloe was selected because of her Academic Performance, Classroom Effort/Attitude, and her Leadership. Chloe has done a great job avoiding drama and taking it upon herself to take on a leadership role in the classroom. She is involved in St. Patrick's Church faith formation, Xtreme Faith church choir, and Unified Raiders. She enjoys English, Design, and Finance in school and plans on attending college for Psych or Dental Hygiene. Chloe is the daughter of Ken & Misty Sawyer.

12th Grade Tomiyah Munier

Tomiyah goes above and beyond in every part of her high school career and deserves to be student of the Month!!! She is a member of the golf team, National Honor Society, S Club, and helps mentor younger students. She is planning on attending Montana State University after graduation. Tomiyah is the daughter of Tamara Estes.
