February Students of the Month

The Monthly Performance Award acknowledges other criteria as well as achievement. These criteria are:

1. Superior academic performance, (or), dramatic improvement of classroom work, G.P.A. or attitude toward learning.

2. Exceptional work effort toward a particular class project.

3. Outstanding Contribution to the class.

4. Leadership exhibited in the class/school.

5. Citizenship emphasized and modeled.

6. Service to school.

Students of the Month for February are:

7th grade: Aastha Chaudhari — Aastha has an enthusiastic desire to accomplish the goals she sets for herself. She works well individually and understands the value of teamwork. Aastha is active in the spelling bee, fine arts, student council, quiz bowl, spirit club, cross country, track and has the ability to maintain quality work. She is respectful, considerate, kind and patient when encouraging others t o and be their best. Aastha is the daughter of Bharat and Bhakti Chaudhari.

8th grade: Khemi Green — Khemi has always been an excellent role model for other students in the classroom. She always comes to class with a great and positive attitude that allows her to help those around her. Khemi is always respectful to the teachers and her classmates. Khemi works very hard in the classroom and is motivated to be successful in her academic endeavors. It is because of these attributes, Khemi is an excellent choice for Sidney Middle School Student of the Month. Khemi is the granddaughter of Todd and Mel Keller.

9th grade: Kirstin Dougherty — Kirstin is very consistent, works well with other students, conscientious, responsible, and enthusiastic. She is involved in FFA and basketball. Kirstin likes being outdoors and spending time with family and friends and enjoys working at my grandparents farm. Her future plans are to attend college and study agriculture Kirstin’s parents are Jodi and Brian Dougherty.

10th grade: McGuire Rolls — McGuire is a leader, polite and responsible, asks good questions and takes opportunities to make corrections on assist meets. He is involved in football and track & field and enjoys leatherwork and hunting in his free time. McGuire plans on attending a ride school after graduation. McGuire’s parents are Cindy and Scott Rolls.

11th grade: Anna Lenzen — Anna is a great artist. She is very focused during class and takes her work very seriously. She is always willing to attempt difficult projects in order to get better. She isi fairly quiet during class but isn't afraid to ask questions or for help.

She is also great at helping others. She’s involved in the Art Club and enjoys making pottery. Anna plans on attending WNCC after high school. After graduation, Anna hopes to dedicate her time to helping animals.

Anna’s parents are Andrew and Lydia Lenzen.

12th grade: Ellie Sager — Ellie is prepared for class. She comes in ready to work each day. She has very high standards for artwork and put so much effort and craftsmanship into each of her pieces. Ellie always has a positive attitude and is willing to help others.

She has been involved in Danz team one year, band six years, NHS two years, One Acts makeup crew two years. Some of Ellie’s hobbies include setup, art and dance. Ellie has always been more of a creative person and really enjoys expressing herself through any form of art. Her future plans are to attend the University of Nebraska Lincoln and major in business.

She also plans to minor in art, then go to cosmetology school to earn her license. One of Ellie’s dreams is to create special effects makeup on a movie set. Elle’s mother is Rebecca Sager.
