Cheyenne County Students Qualify for State Speech Meet

The 2024 District Speech Meet was held on the WNCC campus in Scottsbluff on March 11, participants earning 3rd place and higher qualified for the State Meet in Kearney March 20-22.

The Potter-Dix Speech Team had a very successful meet, all members qualified for the state meet earning the team a District Runner Up title.

OID: 1st place: Jaxson, Kyle, RJ and Kolby; 2nd place: Amanda, Kenzie and Monique;

Duet: 1st place: Kyle and Kolby; 3rd place: Kennedy and Peyton;

Serious Prose: 1st place: Jaxson, 3rd place: Kenzie;

Entertainment: 1st place: Jaxson;

Program of Oral Interpretation: 2nd place: Amanda;

The Sidney Red Raiders have one student attending the State Meet next week, Kennedy Hobson qualified with her 3rd place finish in Program of Oral Interpretation.

Duet Acting: 5th place: Jenju Peters and Kyah Hicks, 6th place: Ellie Hollingshead and Duncan Carrasco;

OID: 5th place: Duncan Darrasco, Dru Weimer, Noel Onate, Dan Gruning and Raven Dinorog

The Leyton Warriors were also present at the meet representing their school well.
