In a deep ravine under the Burlington Northern Railroad train bridge, authorities discovered the body of 22-year-old Kyle E. Bunner in his vehicle. According to the accident report, Bunner was headed north in his 1998 Chevy Cavalier when he left the roadway to the west at approximately 4:20 a.m.
County Attorney Paul Schaub said it appears the vehicle left the roadway, went airborne, landed just after a gully, went up the embankment and slid down the embankment.
According to the accident report, air bags did not deploy and Bunner was not wearing a selt belt. Alcohol and drugs are suspected to have been a factor in the accident.
