Accident Claims Life Of Gurley Man By Klark Byrd kbyrd@suntelegraph.com SIDNEY - The Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office resonded to a 911 call Sunday afternoon reporting a one-vehicle accident that claimed the life of a Gurley man at around mile marker 45 on U.S. Highway 385, authorities said Monday. In a deep ravine under the Burlington Northern Railroad train bridge, authorities discovered the body of 22-year-old Kyle E. Bunner in his vehicle. According to the accident report, Bunner was headed north in his 1998 Chevy Cavalier when he left the roadway to the west at approximately 4:20 a.m. County Attorney Paul Schaub said it appears the vehicle left the roadway, went airborne, landed just after a gully, went up the embankment and slid down the embankment. Authorities were unaware that an accident had occurred until a farmer called 911 at 5:50 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Bunner was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the accident report, air bags did not deploy and Bunner was not wearing a selt belt. Alcohol and drugs are suspected to have been a factor in the accident.
