Sidney Seniors Lose To Buckley Bombers By Doug Law dlaw@suntelegraph.com Sidney - The Sidney Senior Legion baseball team ran out of timely hits Wednesday and dropped a 7-1 loss to the Buckley Bombers in Chappell. “We just did not get the key hits we needed, we didn’t get the hits to get baserunners,” Sidney coach Ramsey Mills said. “Chappell hit the ball well and their pitcher (Brandon Price) threw strikes. We played well, just didn’t get the key hits.” The Sidney Seniors were led by Bret Bayne and Hunter Roseberry, who were both two of three at the plate. Alex Bond hit a RBI single to score Roseberry in the middle of the seven inning game. Kendall Kroeger was one of two at the plate for the Bombers but crushed one solo home run and had two RBIs. Matt Ramiriez was two of three at the plate for the Bombers with a RBI and teammate Zach Hansen was one of four with two RBIs. Brandon Price took the win on the mound for the Bombers, pitching all seven innings, but allowed five Sidney hits while striking out six batters. He issued four walks and one unearned run. “The Bombers are starting to get in stride as we pull into July and we hope this winning can continue,” said Bombers Coach Marcus Kammer. The Bombers play a double header in Alliance Monday with games starting at 5 p.m. They host a Junior-Senior series with Scottsbluff Tuesday in Chappell.
