The Health Center Foundation Helping Hands volunteers at Sidney Regional Medical Center were recently honored at a luncheon in recognition of Healthcare Volunteer Week. The program has three divisions: hospice, resident care and reception. This year's theme was "Volunteers, a work of Heart." Vickie Smith received the Caring Kind Award for Sidney Regional Medical Center. The center's CEO Jason Petik made the presentation. Smith is the volunteer coordinator for the Helping Hands Reception Volunteers and is also a board member for the Health Center Foundation. Smith is an active volunteer serving others in many areas of the SRMC facility as well as in her hometown of Chappell. The Caring Kind award is sponsored by the Nebraska Hospital Association.
