SIDNEY – Five Sidney churches are inviting the community to join them as they explore the true meaning of Christmas in a progressive story program. From the dramatic moment of Mary’s learning that she would be the mother of Jesus to the historical journey of the three wise men, the program encompasses each milestone of the story of Jesus’ birth.

Performed by the church, each part of the story will take approximately 12 to 15 minutes to be presented.

“Don’t miss this opportunity to visit each church and hear the ‘Good News’ story of Christmas in a unique and fun way,” Christian Life Center Paster Jim Gerhold said.

The program begins Dec. 18 at 5 p.m. It’s expected to last until 7:45 p.m.

The story begins at Christian Life Center, at 1545 King St., where audiences will hear the announcement to Mary.

The story then moves to the Seventh Day Adventist Church at 2393 Maple St., where the announcement will be made to the shepherds.

From there, the story moves to Christ Episcopal Church at 1205 10th Ave., where Mary and husband Joseph learn there is no room at the inn.

The Holy Trinity Lutheran Church picks up the story from there at 2305 San Marino Rd., where audiences will see the birth of Jesus.

The final act will take place at First United Methodist Church at 2622 11th Ave., where the wise men will make their journey to Bethlehem.

Two performances are scheduled, with the first beginning at 5 p.m. and the second starting at 5:30 p.m.
