Cheyenne County Fair Rodeo Round-Up

SIDNEY — Cole Dorenkamp of Lamar, Colo., took home the top prize money after posting the quick time for the two days of calf roping at the Sidney rodeo with a time of 8.8 seconds.

Troy Hubbard of Wheatland, Wyo., was second with a 9.3 second time while Travis Lymber of Broken Bow was third in 9.5 seconds.

Justin Roselle of Greeley, Colo., was fourth in 9.9 seconds, Wylie Current of Sutherland was fifth in 10.2 seconds and Ray Brown of North Platte was sixth in 10.4 seconds.

Bareback rider Evan Jayne of Stephenville, Texas, and originally from France, won top money in his division with an 83 score on Bart Star while Ira McKillip of Whitman was second with a 65 on Cherry Bomb and Trey Kerner of Sutherland took third with a 61 on Sobe.

Jesse Jolly of Agate, Colo., won first-place in thr saddle bronc event with a 73 score on Doc Holiday and Chase Miller of Valentine and Garet Groshans of Paoli, Colo., split second place money with identical scores of 71.

Loncey Johnson of North Platte was fourth with a 67 score on Last Minute, Jory Zurcher of Mitchell was fifth with a 58 on Ice Cube and Red Bond of Broadwater was sixth with a 57 on board Jimmy Jim Jim.

The bull riding crown went to Spud Tharp of Ault, Colo., with an 87 score on Wasp and Tyler Long of Stapleton was second with an 83 on Ghost.

Clint Wilson of Mullen and Billy Stover split third-place prize money with identical scores of 78 each.

Loncey Johnson of North Platte was fifth with a 76 on Malcolm X and Troy Kerner of Sutherland and Travis Weber of Baggs, Wyo., split sixth-place money with scores of 75 each.

Kaycee Tidyman of Carpenter, Wyo., won the barrel racing competition with a time of 15.54 seconds and Nancy Smith of Wray, Colo., was second in 15.75 seconds.

Katie Epp of Lisco was third in 15.86 seconds while Audra McCorkle of Greeley, Colo., was just a heartbeat slower in fourth place in 15.87 seconds. Martee Pruitt of Gering was fifth in 15.91 seconds and Lyndsey Simonton of Broken Bow was sixth in 15.93.

The duo of Calvin Brevik of Durango, Colo., and Korn Bramwell of Cromo, Colo., won the team roping event in 5.3 seconds while Andy Miller of Wellfleet and Levi Tyan of North Platte took second with a 5.5 second time. Jerry Buckles of Burwell and Mark Swanson of Arthur were third in 5.6 seconds while Jay Tittel and Ryon Tittel both of Pueblo, Colo., were fourth in 5.9 seconds.

Cole Cooper of Grand Junction, Colo., and T.J. Watts of Eads, Colo., were fifth in 6.0 seconds while Cole Dorenkamp of Lamar, Colo., and Jesse Jolly of Agate, Colo., were sixth in 6.1 seconds.

Lexi Bath of Burns, Wyo., and Meka Melvin of Tryon tied for first place to split top breakaway roping money with identical times of 2.8 seconds each. Barb Franzen of Carpenter, Wyo., was third in 3.2 seconds, Jessica Mosher of Karval, Colo., was fourth in 3.4 seconds and Ginalee Tierney of North Platte and Jill Edelman of Ashby tied for sixth in 3.5 seconds to split sixth place prize money.

Tagg From of Thedford won the steer wrestling event in 4.3 seconds, Jarrett Rasmussen of Thedford was second in 5.2 seconds and Tyson Cox of Purdum was third in 7.3 seconds.

Jesse Jolly of Agate, Colo., was fourth in 9.5 seconds, Jacob Sterkel of Brighton, Colo., was fifth in 9.9 seconds and Gus Cross of Torrington, Wyo., was sixth in 10.4 seconds.
