  • Construction begins at Cabela's housing development

    Construction at The Ranch, Cabela's housing subdivision on the east side of Sidney, began earlier this work. Crews started excavation work at four lots on Monday, and foundations for all sites should be poured by next week. Plans call for more than 700 homes to be built, in phases, on property the Sidney-based retailer purchased in 2012.     AMES, Iowa – A Sidney resident has was honored academically at Iowa State University. Scott Robert Kelsey, an agricultural systems technology major, was named to the fall 2015 dean’s list at ISU. More than 8,370 ISU undergraduates have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the 2015 fall semester dean’s list.     CRETE – A Chappell resident was named to the dean’s list at Doane College for the fall 2015 semester. Hannah Schievelbein, a Creek Valley High School graduate, was one of 243 students named to the dean’s list.
