The Sidney Regional Medical Center hosted Valentine's Day events last Friday for residents at two of its facilities. Gary Harris and Mary Lou Bartling were crowned the Extended Care king and queen, and diners at Sloan Estates were treated to a lobster lunch. Average retail gasoline prices in Nebraska have risen 5.3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.18 per gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 1,150 gas outlets in Nebraska. BRIDGEPORT – A team from Sidney High School will represent the Panhandle for the Nebraska Envirothon Contest near Cozad at Camp Comeca on April 29. Sidney Red Raiders' Derek Robb gets a big hug from sister Kali after winning the district wrestling championship at 138 pounds at Chadron State College on Saturday. Over the past couple of weeks, I attended No till On the Plains winter conference and the Colorado Conservation Tillage Association’s High Plains No-till Conference. After a strong weekend, the Sidney High boys' basketball team put it in a commanding position to repeat as the No. 1 seed at districts. For the Chadron Lady Cardinals the third time proved to be the charm as they finally took down the Sidney Lady Raiders 48-42 at Cabela's Athletic Facility in a non-district matchup Friday night.
