  • Chappell man arrested following drug sting at his apartment

    A Chappell resident faces four felonies after a drug bust that turned into a foot pursuit. Jason Vogt, 31, is in custody after the Deuel County Sheriffs department arrested him during a sting operation took place earlier this month at Vogt’s apartment. He faces charges of distribution of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school, possession with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and tampering with evidence.     Hilda Scheve, 95 of Beatrice, died Saturday morning, Oct. 25, 2014 at the Beatrice Community Hospital. She was born on Feb. 11, 1919 at Brookfield, Ill. and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1936. She worked at the candy counter at Woolworth's and J.M.McDonald's in Beatrice. On Feb. 1, 1942 she married William J. Scheve at First Trinity Lutheran Church of rural Beatrice. They lived and farmed west of Beatrice all their married life.
