  • Trial set for man accused of leading police on car chase

    The trial has been set for a Wyoming man accused of leading law enforcement officers on a two-state car chase that ended near Sidney. Joseph Mladenik, 40, of Cheyenne, Wyo., is scheduled to appear Dec. 14-15 in Cheyenne County District Court for a jury trial. He is facing four felony charges: three counts of possessing a firearm while committing a felony and operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest.     Potter-Dix earned the top spot at the district one act play competition in Hyannis on Wednesday and will advance to the state competition next week. Potter-Dix presented "Eurydice" by Sarah Ruhl to beat out seven other schools in its division.     Two railroad crossings will be closed next week due to maintenance. The crossing on County Road 125 near U.S. Hwy. 30, which was originally scheduled to be closed Friday, will now be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 a.m. Monday.     The following people appeared in Cheyenne County District Court on Wednesday before the Honorable Derek C. Weimer: Kristin Gulley, 30, appeared in court for arraignment on five counts of distributing child pornography, which are Class ID felonies.
