Court Briefs - 01-15-14

The following people appeared in Cheyenne County District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 14, before the Honorable Derek Weimer:

Monica Gehrig, age 30 now of Sidney, (formerly of Sterling, Colo.) appeared for a status hearing on a charge of Distribution of Marijuana in a School Zone. This is a class ID felony. She pled guilty to an amended charge of two counts of Possession of Oxycodone, both class IV felonies. Pre-sentence investigation was ordered and sentencing is scheduled for March 5 at 10 a.m.

Kristie Keenan, age 30 of Dalton, appeared for arraignment on a charge of Extortion, a class III felony. A status hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 11.

Cassandra Moul, age 33 of Sidney, appeared for sentencing on an amended charge of Possession of Methamphetamine, which is a class IV felony. She received 60 months of probation, waivable jail time and three days in jail.

Cory Lundgren age 23 of Lincoln, (formerly of Sidney) appeared for sentencing on an amended charge of attempted 2nd degree assault, a class IV felony. He received five years of Intensive Supervised Probation, five non-waivable days in jail to be served on the anniversary of the accident, waivable jail time and a $2,000 fine, plus $600 in court costs.

Jason Cagle, age 31 of Sidney, appeared for arraignment on a charge of Distribution of Marijuana, a class III felony. His status hearing is scheduled for Feb. 23.

Taylor Ramsey, age 22 of Sidney, appeared for arraignment on a charge of Possession of Hash with Intent and Manufacturing Hash. Both arecclass III felonies. A suppression hearing is scheduled for Feb. 20 at 9:30 a.m.

Theodore Medina, age 23 of Sidney, appeared for Status Hearing on the Plea in Abatement on a charge of 1st Degree Assault, which is a class II felony. Simultaneous briefs on the PIA are due on Feb. 12.

William Jackson, age 44 of Dalton, appeared for arraignment on a charge of Terroristic Threats and Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony. These represent class IV and class II felonies, respectively. His status hearing has been scheduled for March 11 at 9:30 a.m.

Jonathon Jackson, age 19 of Dalton, appeared for arraignment on a charge of Terroristic Threats and Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony, also class IV and class II felonies, respectively. The status hearing has been scheduled for March 11 at 9:30 a.m.

The following people appeared in Cheyenne County District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 14, before the Honorable Randin Roland:

Theodore Medina, age 23 of Sidney, appeared for a preliminary hearing on a charge of 2nd Degree Assault, a class III felony. He waived the preliminary hearing and arraignment has been scheduled in District Court on March 11 at 8:30 a.m.

Matthew Emerzian, age 23 of Yuba City, Calif., appeared for a preliminary hearing on a charge of 2nd degree assault. This is a class III Felony. He pled no contest to an amended charge of 3rd Degree Assault, a class I misdemeanor. He received 23 days in jail.

Jethro Harris, age 43 of Sidney, appeared for arraignment on a charge of driving on a revoked license, listed as a class II misdemeanor. He pled guilty and received 10 days in jail.
