Divine Design - Blueprints for Daily Living

Camping is never been my cup of tea. I prefer my own bed over a cot in a tent. No protection when storms are around. Indoor plumbing seems to be another great convenience along with the thermostat that I can control. All these things make me a lot happier because I have all the modern conveniences there at my fingertips. When it comes to camping out in tents, I think God shares my thoughts. Second Corinthians 5:1 it says it this way. “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved we would have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”

Paul compares our earthly physical bodies to tents and points out their limitations. They are temporal, often unsafe (more often than not), uncomfortable, not to mention easily damaged. Our bodies are not made to last more than 100 years at the most. However Mother Raider a wonderful saint of God lived to be 109 years of age. Her real name was Henrietta Raider and was a special lady to many of us at the church. Often when I visited her in her late years, she would let me know that she had heaven in her sights and her greatest desire we to see her creator. Mother Raider knew that the body that contained her spirit would some day give way and she would be in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

So tent dwellers take note, your situation is only temporary. In heaven we will inherit a fantastic home built for us from God. Human hands didn’t construct our indestructible heavenly home. The cost of the house has been bought by Jesus. His outstretched hands that were nailed to the cross made it possible for us one day to live there. The Bible describes that it is beyond our wildest thoughts or imagination. I Corinthians 2:9 (MSG) “No one’s ever seen or heard anything like this, Never so much as imagined anything quite like it—What God has arranged for those who love him.” Heaven will be a spectacular, eye-catching, dazzling and breathtaking place to check out. Mother Raider is already there and enjoying being with her Creator as well as others who have gone before her. Would you like to know more about heaven, we invite you to Christian Life Center any and each Sunday morning at 10:00 am. You will find people there like you who are on a spiritual journey to heaven.

I believe God has a plan for each of our lives, God did have us in mind even at creation. We are His best creation and we know from creation, He makes good stuff. Blessings to you today as you seek the architect and God of the universe.
