Rowley selected for Rotary Scholarship

For The Sun-Telegraph

Cody L. Rowley has been selected as the 2014, Sidney Rotary Club Scholarship recipient. Rowley stated that she would be attending Chadron State Collage this fall and participate in the Rural Health Opportunities Program (RHOP), a cooperative agreement between Chadron State College and the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The Rotary scholarship is for $1,000.00 and is provided by the fund-raising activities of the local Rotary International Club.

“We sure enjoyed talking with this year’s candidates,” veteran selection committee member, Louella Pippitt said when asked about those applying for the annual scholarship. “They were very candid with their answers and ideas.”

Committee member and current Rotary president, Matt Moore commented, “As good as all the candidates were, we were in total agreement on the selection of Cody.”

For nearly 90 years, the Sidney Rotary Club has maintained a presence in Sidney, supporting youth activities such as summer baseball, Boy’s State, Rotary Youth Leadership Award Camp, business and student foreign exchange programs and the Rotary Scholarship.
