Sidney West School Sixth Grade Students receive Presidential Academic Awards

Sixth grade students at West School in Sidney are eligible to be considered for a President’s Education Award.  Students who earn these awards are students with high academic standing and exemplary citizenship and leadership skills as endorsed by their teachers and principal. 

Students who receive a gold award for Outstanding  Academic  Excellence have maintained a GPA of 3.5 or above for the duration of their 5th and 6th grade years. In addition they received a teacher recommendation and/or performed with high achievement on nationally or state normed tests. Silver awards are awarded to students for Outstanding Achievement and academic growth.
