Marathon bridge winners announced

Michaela Nelson received a donation of $750 for the Association of Retarded Citizens from the 2013-14 marathon bridge players on Tuesday night in an event hosted by Della’s Cafe. She thanked the players for building a bridge to enable more social activities for members of the A.R.C.

The winners of the groups were also announced. The scores were close throughout the competition and the final month’s play determined eventual rankings.

Carol Anderson and Rosella Mehling won Group A. Cathy Mattoon and Kathy Scripp were tops in Group B. Leslie Biggs and Cathy Mattoon won the evening group.

The pairs will begin play again in September. Competition is against a different opponent each month and scores are cumulative through April.

Anyone interested in playing bridge should contact Lynn Poppen at 254-0704 or Cathy Mattoon at 254-6184. If an interested party needs a partner, one will be found.

The cost is $20 per person and benefits the Association for Retarded Citizens.
