Weekend wreck - Crash damages multiple structures

A driver who lost control of his vehicle hitting many objects in the process caused the power outages in central and south Sidney on Saturday.

Jamee Guggenmos of Gurley was traveling north out of Sidney on County Rd. 111 when he crossed the center line and struck multiple road signs, according to an accident report from the Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office. His pickup truck continued into the west ditch and traveled north west into a barbed wire fence. The truck finally came to a stop when it struck the power utility pole. The wreck occurred a little less than a half mile outside of the Sidney boundaries. The truck was totaled in the collision. The driver was not seriously injured in the wreck.

The Sheriff's Office estimated the damage to the pole at $18,500 and damage to the road signs at around $250.
