Eugene Leroy Frerichs

1941 to 2014

Eugene Leroy Frerichs, 72, passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at Casa de la Luz Hospice in Tucson after being diagnosed with lung/brain cancer only one week before.

Cremation has taken place and there were no memorial services.

Eugene Leroy Frerichs was born Dec. 24, 1941 to Esther and Ernest Frerichs. Gene attended a rural school through the 8th grade, high school in Sidney and furthered his education attending a diesel mechanic school in Kansas.

Gene owned and operated a diesel repair shop in Sidney before moving in 1969 to Seattle, Wash., where he worked for Diamond Reo. Gene later became vice president of service at Kenworth Northwest. After leaving Kenworth, Gene worked at Sea-Tac Ford as their service manager. Gene retired from K&N Meats as the transportation manager in 2000 and moved to Tucson, Ariz.

Gene is survived by his wife Dorothy of Tucson, Ariz.; two sons Rusty (Kathy) of Federal Way, Wash., and Rick (Tennia) of Bonney Lake, Wash.; brothers Arthur (Billie) Frerichs of Lewellen, Nebr. and Allen (Sharon) Frerichs of Gurley, Nebr.; two grandsons David and Doug Frerichs.

Gene was preceded in death by both his parents Esther and Ernest Frerichs and brother Dareld Frerichs.
