Judith A . Waterson

1936 to 2014

Judith A. (Judy) Waterson, 77, died peacefully on Oct. 26, 2014 at her home in Turlock, Calif. Services will be held at Turlock Memorial Park on Nov. 3 at 3:00 p.m. Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, Rocky Mountain Conservancy, or to the charity of the donors choice.

Judy was born in Sidney, on Dec. 1, 1936, to Jarvis C. and Helen C. Bush. She attended school in Sidney. She graduated from Sidney High School in 1954. After graduating she attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for one year. She became a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She transferred to Colorado State University at Fort Collins for two years, then transferred to California State University, Long Beach, where she obtained her B.A. degree. She was married to William C. (Bill) Waterson on Aug. 12, 1961 at Light Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sidney. Except for living in Sidney for one year, they resided in Turlock for the remainder of her life. After having received her California teaching credentials from California State University, Stanislaus, she taught at Turlock High School. Judy loved music and sports, especially the Oakland A’s and San Francisco Giants, and of course the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Her family and friends will miss her sweet nature and sense of humor.

Judy was proceeded by her grandparents Fred A. and Tessie E. Bush and Guy V. and Mabel Doran, by her parents and parents in-law, and by her brother Stuart R. (Randy) Bush. She is survived by her husband Bill Waterson, daughters Nancy Glenn and Jennifer Waterson, grandchildren Kelsey and Elise Glenn, her brother Guy F. (Jeff) Bush and his wife Wanda M. Bush of Kimball, niece Lora J. Bush of Lander, Wyo., nephew Doran S. Bush (Kristina) of Kimball, two grandnephews, Garrett Burbank and Kole Bush, three grandnieces, Ashley Grimm, Sarah Irwin and Kallie Bush, one great-nephew, Jack Irwin, and three great-nieces, Isabell Irwin, Nova Burbank and Olivia Grimm.
