GIRLS' BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Berner, Jenkins boost Leyton

Kaitlyn Berner scored 10 points and teammate Shaela Jenkins pulled down 12 rebounds to help boost the Leyton High girls’ basketball team to a 35-20 victory over South Platte on Friday night.

The Lady Warriors opened up a 26-11 lead by halftime and then limited South Platte to just nine second-half points.

Leyton, which improved to 2-2, is back in action on Tuesday night when it travels to Potter-Dix.

Potter-Dix 51, Creek Valley 35

Potter-Dix 54, Paxton 25

Potter-Dix won both of its games over the weekend to stay unbeaten and push its record to 4-0.

In the win over Creek Valley on Friday, Alexus Rozelle had 12 points and nine rebounds. Audrey Juelfs added 12 points and Anna McLaughlin chipped in 10 rebounds for the Lady Coyotes.

Allie Blackwelder paces Creek Valley (1-3) with 12 points and six rebounds.

On Saturday, Juelfs had 21 points and six rebounds to help Potter-Dix to the win over Paxton. Rozelle added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Peetz 62, Pawnee 54

The Lady Bulldogs moved to 3-1 on the season with the win at Pawnee.

Peetz is next in action on Tuesday, hosting Huxtun.
