RadioShack Chapter 11 filing won't alter local stores

Customers won’t be affected in locally owned stores in Sidney, Ogallala and Sterling

Local customers won’t be affected by RadioShack’s filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

DP Electronics, the RadioShack dealer in Sidney, Ogallala and Sterling, has always been a locally owned and operated business and will continue to be a locally owned business, said David Porter, owner of DP Electronics.

“We are an independent business and not part of the RadioShack Chapter 11 filing,” he said.

“Our customers will not notice any change,” he said. “We will continue to carry a complete line of electronic products, including laptops, PC computers, HD televisions and all the new and hottest products. Customers will continue to be able to find the wide variety of products they are accustomed to finding in our stores.”

DP Electronics will continue as a RadioShack dealer, as well as provide services including DirecTV, Viaero Wireless, Hamilton Internet service, computer and phone screen repairs, custom IT and security/surveillance products.

“Most importantly,” Porter said, “we appreciate residents who shop locally with us and we try to repay them with excellent customer service and one-stop shopping selection.”
