Engagement: Kathman, Smith to marry

Christy Kathman and Ryan Smith, together with their parents, are pleased to announce their upcoming marriage.

Christy is the daughter of Randy and Jean Kathman of Doniphan, Neb. Her grandparents are Viginia Kaminski of Loup City, Neb. and Helen Kathman of Hastings.

Christy is a 2007 graduate of Doniphan-Trumbull High School and a graduate of the University of Nebraska Kearney with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Radiologic Technology. She is currently employed as a Radiologic Technologist at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings.

Ryan Smith is the son of Jeff and Brenda Smith of Sidney. His grandparents are Carol Schadegg of Hemet, Calif. and Dawn Smith of North Platte.

Ryan is a 2007 graduate of Sidney High School and a graduate of the University of Nebraska Kearney with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Education. He is currently employed as a science teacher at McPherson County High School in Tryon, Neb.

The couple is planning a wedding at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Grand Island on April 18 at 2 p.m.
