1933 to 2015

Patricia A. "Pat" Hruska, 81 of Sidney, passed away at the Sidney Regional Medical Center, Sunday morning, March 1, 2015.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Thurs., March 5, with a Wake Service at 6 p.m., Wednesday evening, March 4. Both services will be in the St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Jim Heithoff officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Pat's care and funeral arrangements.

Patricia Ann Hruska, the daughter of Bernard Peter "Ben" and Elizabeth (Reicks) Pelster, was born on Aug. 7, 1933 at Dalton. She attended Elementary School in Dalton and graduated from St. Patrick's Catholic High School in 1950. She attended Chadron State College and taught at District 70J, (Meadow Lane), a country school west of Dalton for three years. On Sept. 4, 1954 Pat was united in marriage to Herbert H. Hruska at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dalton.

Pat was member of St. Patrick's Altar Society, sang in the Church Choir and for many funerals and weddings. She served six years on the Cheyenne County Extension Board, holding the office of Secretary during that time. She was also active in helping at the Catholic Rummage House in Sidney, served on the St. Patrick's Parish Council and was 4-H Leader for fifteen years and served on the 4-H Council during that time. Pat was active in St. Patrick's High School Fine Arts Guild and taught CCD. She was also active in the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women.

Survivors include her husband: Herb of Sidney; her children: Rosemarie Wilburn and husband Robert of Nazareth, Pa., Carolyn Spencer and husband Steven of Grand Island, Dianna Beulke and husband Jeff of Omaha, H. Joseph Hruska and wife Yolanda of Sidney and Michael Hruska of Los Angeles; son-in-law: Dan Gilroy of Alliance; (1) sister: Rosemary Meier and husband Ed of Denver; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, (1) daughter: Laurie Gilroy, (5) brothers and (1) sister.
