WNCC students earn year-end honors, distinctions

Western Nebraska Community College's Sidney Campus held its annual Awards Ceremony at the Aviation College on Thursday afternoon. Every year, the three WNCC campuses recognize the hard work and dedication of graduates in each program.

WNCC President Todd Holcomb along with the Dean of Students, Vice President of Student Services, Vice President of Administration Services, Vice President of Education Services, Sidney's Student Services Coordinator and Sidney's Campus Director congratulated and awarded honors to several local students.

Bomi Kim, Malarie Tyson, Reece Pedersen and Shaunna Weinmaster received the "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges Award" for their accomplishments at WNCC. Pedersen also received the Presidential Award for going above and beyond in the Aviation maintenance program.

The Board of Governors' Award is the highest award given to a student that shows outstanding excellence at WNCC and in the community. Courtney Joplin, an LPN student, received that distinction as well as the Outstanding Nursing Student award.

•Rose Nelson, Outstanding Science Student and Sidney Campus Director Encourager Award

•Jeremy Jerger, Dean of Students Award

•Tiffany Harms, Vice President of Student Services Student Leadership Award

•Christian Hudspeth, Vice President of Administrative Services Non-Traditional Student of the Year Award

•Cosmetology Club, Vice President of Student Services Organization of the Year Award
