Rod was born Dec. 25, 1948 at Sterling, the youngest of four children to Albert and Gustie (Sommerfeld) Hradecky. He graduated from Iliff High School in 1966. Rod married Delores Glassburn and to this union two children were born: Jeff and Lorie. The couple later divorced.

On Aug. 14, 1989 Rod and Marcia (Lowery) Schuller committed their hearts and love to each other. 20 years later, on August 14, 2009 they were united in marriage in the eyes of the Lord and re-confirmed their love and commitment to one another at the Chapel in the Hills in Rapid City, S.D.

Rod recently retired from Cash Wa Distributing as a service technician. He loved cars, working on the land, enjoyed many family gatherings target practicing, and spending time with the kids, grandchildren, and other family members. He had a love of the land, spending time fixing fence, and was thrilled when he bought the farm north of Bridgeport in 2007 which he named Owihanke – "the end of the road" – which is where he spent his last days.

Rod was always a great influence on Kurt and Travis who he considered to be his children. He also gave the gift of life by being an organ donor.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Marcia Hradecky of rural Bridgeport; son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Diane Hradecky of Iliff; daughter Lorie Hradecky of Greeley; sons and daughers-in-law Kurt and Becky Schuller and Travis and Courtney Schuller all of Bayard; grandchildren Ashley (Chase) Harimon of Scottsbluff; Phillip, Andrew, and Madi Schuller all of Bayard, and Keily Hradecky of Greeley; sister Audrey Bailey of Nebraska City and a host of friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Rod was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Shirley and Bertha.
