Sidney juniors seeded No. 4 for district tourney

The Sidney Post #17 junior legion baseball team was seeded fourth among the six teams playing in this weekend’s Class B, Area 7 Tournament.

Chadron received the No. 1 seed for the double-elimination event, which begins Friday at Oregon Trail Park in Gering. Ogallala earned the No. 2 seed, Alliance is No. 3, Gering is No. 5 and Hershland is No. 6.

There will be three first-round games played on Friday. Chadron will take on Hershland at 1 p.m., and Alliance and Sidney will square off at 4 p.m. Gering will meet Ogallala at 7 p.m.

Play continues through Tuesday with the champion earning a spot in the Class B Juniors State Tournament that will be played July 18-22 in Bennington.

The Sidney junior and senior teams will be in action Tuesday night when they host Torrington (Wyo), and on the road on Wednesday evening at Chadron.
