Dormann paces locals at Jr. Am

KIMBALL – Alex Schaake of Omaha won his second straight Nebraska Junior Amateur Championship on Thursday as he fired a 74 at West Winds Golf Course in Kimball to overtake second-round leader Koy Potthoff of Scottsbluff.

Schaake finished with a 54-hole total of 219 to edge Pothoff and Omaha’s Nolan Maschka by two strokes.

Among the locals, Connor Dormann led three of his Sidney High School teammates with a three-day total of 252 after a final round 85. Dormann opened the tournament on Tuesday with an 85 and carded an 82 on Wednesday.
