Creek Valley golfers show improvement at home event

The Creek Valley High girls’ golf team continued its pattern of improvement as all three of its players shot career-best rounds at the Storm Invite at the Chappell Golf Course on Thursday.

Finding their home course to their liking, Jaden Criswell led the squad with a 102 that included a second-nine score of 47. Maddy Johnson reduced her previous best by three strokes as she came in with a 109. Jo Hummermeier, playing in just her second career match, finished with a 136 to best her first effort by four strokes.

Criswell medaled for the second time in three tournaments as she finished in a tie for fourth. Johnson, who finished 10th, has taken home a medal from each tournament this season.

Dundy County-Stratton won the event and swept the top two individual placings. Dundy County shot a 401 total to easily outpace runner-up Bayard.

The Storm will be at Mitchell next Thursday at 9 a.m. for their next match.
