$25,000 donated to support Sidney activities

Excitement for the first Sidney Red Raiders' home football game is underway with students, teachers and the community wearing red and black.

To add to the school pride and support, Michael and Rachel Copeland, of Sidney, along with Miss Lucy's House of Glamour, donated a check for $25,000 to Sidney High School's activities program Friday morning.

"It's going to go into helping all activities, especially those that need a little financial assistance in order to fully participate in what they want to participate in," said Sidney Public School District Superintendent Jay Ehler.

The Copeland's presented the check to Sidney High School principal Chris Arent and head football coach Chris Koozer.

"We just really want to help the kids," said Rachel Copeland.

"We really wanted to help those who might not have the funds to be in activities," said Michael Copeland. "We wanted it to be activity based and not athletic based so that it would benefit kids that wanted to be in cheer or dance or anything else they are interested in."
