Authorities seeking two men in unrelated cases

Cheyenne County law enforcement agencies are looking for two men who are wanted in separate cases and who may be in the area.

Wyatt Coleman, 28, is wanted on a felony warrant from Colorado, said Cheyenne County Sheriff John Jenson.

According to court documents, Coleman was arrested in Logan County in August and charged with four felonies: eluding authorities in a vehicle, menacing with a real or simulated weapon, possession of a weapon by a prohibited person and using the identification of another person without permission with the intent of gaining something of value.

He posted a $7,500 bond surety and was released, but failed to appear for a scheduled hearing in September. A failure to appear warrant was issued on Sept. 9.

Coleman has ties to and has been seen in the Sidney and Potter areas, the sheriff said. Authorities searched for Coleman in Potter on Thursday, but were unable to locate him.

In an unrelated case, the U.S. Marshall's Office in Rapid City, S.D., is looking for 47-year-old David Allen Bonness.

According to authorities, Bonness – who is wanted for second degree rape – may have ties to Dix. He is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has green eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of either man is asked to call the Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office at (308) 254-2922.
