Jung records 19 kills in victory

The Sidney High School volleyball team wrapped up its regular season on Tuesday night, defeating Kimball and pushing its overall record up to .500.

The Lady Raiders downed Kimball in straight sets, 25-22, 25-19, 25-16. Sidney is now 15-15 heading into Tuesday’s District B-8 tournament. The Longhorns slipped to 16-9.

Sidney freshman Payton Jung registered 19 kills in the match. Teammate Annalise Lecher had eight kills, three blocks and two aces.

Emily Mahr registered 29 assists and 14 digs and Abbey Mills contributed 13 digs for the Lady Raiders. Kelsey Knight provided six kills and Maddi Porter added five more for Sidney.

The Lady Raiders next play in the District B-8 tournament on Tuesday. The site hasn’t been announced.
