City to address unsafe, unsightly properties

Owners asked to repair or cleanup

The City of Sidney is in the beginning stages of addressing properties that are unsafe or dilapidated.

Over the past several weeks, staff members from the city have conducted a survey of properties in Sidney, under the direction of Chief Building Official Brad Rowan, CBO. The purpose of the survey was to identify distressed, dilapidated, unsightly and unsafe properties.

Property owners of these types of properties will be given a courtesy letter to voluntarily comply with the requests to repair or replace or remove their distressed structures in a timeframe that they and the chief building...
