Seven local players named as honorable mention by Nebraska sports writers
Leyton senior Natalie Cruise (No. 13) goes up for the light tip against Dundy County-Stratton in the D1-12 championship game in November. Cruise has been named to the AP All-State volleyball second team as a libero.
A total of eight high school volleyball players from Cheyenne and Deuel counties have been named to the 2015 Associated Press Nebraska All-State volleyball teams.
Leyton senior Natalie Cruise, a libero for the Lady Warriors, took the highest honor of the eight after being named second team in Class D1.
During her senior season playing volleyball for the Lady Warriors, Cruise recorded 641 digs, 171 kills, 42 aces and 12 blocks.
