Haxtun 50,
Creek Valley 36
Creek Valley dropped a road contest at undefeated Haxtun, Colo., on Tuesday, falling 50-36.
The Storm (6-5) held a 10-8 advantage after the first quarter, before the Lady Bulldogs (8-0) bit back to take a 25-17 lead at the halftime break. Haxtun also outscored Creek Valley 25-19 in the second half.
Jessie Straber and Jordyn Koenen scored nine points each to tie for the team lead offensively, while Andi Ortgies also scored six points for the Storm. Ortgies led the team with nine rebounds, while Straber had a team-high six steals.
Creek Valley is back in action Thursday with a game at Paxton.
Kimball 46,
Potter-Dix 30
Potter-Dix dropped its first game of the season on Tuesday with a 46-30 home loss to Kimball.
The Lady Longhorns (8-2) exploded in the first quarter for a 17-3 advantage and led 28-12 at halftime. The Lady Coyotes (7-1) cut into the lead in the third quarter, outscoring the Lady Longhorns 12-5 to make it a 33-24 game heading into the final quarter. Kimball outscored Potter-Dix 13-6 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win.
Audrey Juelfs led the Lady Coyotes both offensively and defensively with a stellar all-around game. She scored a team-high nine points, pulled down eight rebounds, dished out eight assists and also snagged four steals.
Offensively for Potter-Dix, Dawson Sharman added seven points, while Trinity Langley and Alexus Rozelle scored six points each. Rozelle led the team on the boards with 11, while Langley also grabbed seven rebounds.
Kate Reader led Kimball with 13 points, while Danika Daum added 10.
Potter-Dix is back in action Friday with a home contest against cross-county rival Leyton.
Bridgeport 46, Leyton 18
Leyton dropped a 46-18 game at Bridgeport on Tuesday night.
The Lady Warriors fell to 6-3 with the loss, while the Lady Bulldogs improved to 4-7 with the win.
Statistics were not available at press time.
The Lady Warriors return to action Friday at cross-county rival Potter-Dix.
