Lady Coyotes top South Platte, advance to district finals

Potter-Dix kept its playoff run alive on Thursday with a 51-37 win over South Platte in the finals of the D2-11 subdistrict playoffs in Gering.

The Lady Coyotes (18-2) now advance to face Hyannis on Feb. 26 in Bayard in the district final. Hyannis (17-5) advanced with a 47-30 win over Crawford in the D2-12 subdistrict.

In Thursday's game, Potter-Dix took the lead for good in the second quarter and used an stellar third quarter effort to seal the game. With the game knotted at 15-all, the Lady Coyotes used a 13-8 edge in the second quarter for a 28-23 halftime lead. They stretched that lead to 43-28 heading into the final quarter.

Audrey Juelfs had another stellar game to lead the Lady Coyotes. She scored a team-high 18 points, pulled down nine rebounds and dished out nine assists in the win.

Offensively for Potter-Dix, Dawson Sharman added 14 points while Alexus Rozelle chipped in with nine points. Rozelle also had nine rebounds in the game, while Juelfs and Payge Hoffman had four steals each.
