Scholarships available for current, former Creek Valley students

A pair of scholarships are available for either current or former Creek Valley High School students.

The 2016 McGrale Educational Scholarship applications are now available to Creek Valley High School graduates who are already engaged in a course of study at an eligible post secondary school. Students majoring in math or English will be given preference.

The scholarship is in honor of the late Marie McGrale Smith. It was established by her husband, Ray Smith; her parents, Robert and Minnie McGrale; and her brother, Myron McGrale.

Applications must include letters of recommendation and a transcript of the applicant’s courses and grades. The deadline for this scholarship is April 11. Applications can be obtained from Kathy Ford, Creek Valley High School counselor. Students may also assess the application and application guidelines on Facebook at “Creek Valley Scholarships for Graduates” (must ask to join the group) or request it by email at [email protected].

The Lynda E. Cabela Scholarship, established by the Jerome C. Cabela family to support the professional ideas in which Lynda believed, is awarded each year to a graduating Creek Valley High School senior or a Creek Valley High School graduate pursuing a college degree in the field of business. The deadline for this scholarship is April 10.

The recipient of this scholarship will be announced during the Creek Valley High School commencement ceremony. This scholarship is awarded without regard to sex, race, religion, national or ethnic origin.
