Regular commissioners' meeting scheduled for Monday

The Cheyenne County Board of Commissioners and Board of Equalization will convene for a regular meeting beginning at 8 a.m. Monday in the commissioners' meeting room at the county courthouse located at 1000 10th Ave. in Sidney.

On the agenda will be the approval of the advisory board-proposed contract for Donald Miller, who was selected as the public defender for Cheyenne County during the board's March 21 regular meeting.

Commissioners will also review and consider approval of appointment for a guardian ad litem for the county, as well as open, review and consider approval of bids for electrical work in the livestock exhibit building at the county fairgrounds.

Also for the fairgrounds is a cleaning agreement with the Region 1 Office of Human Development that the board will consider approval.

Tourism Director Heather Hausmann with the Cheyenne County Visitors Center will present a letter in support of Chautauqua in Sidney for the commissioners to review and take possible action.

Other presentations on the agenda include County Treasurer Diane Scott with a report on a tax sale, an update on an ambulance task force with Jason Petik, CEO of Sidney Regional Medical Center, and an update on road activities with County Highway Superintendent Doug Hart.

For the Board of Equalization, Scott will present for review and possible action an application for tax exemption on motor vehicles owned by qualifying non-profit organizations for the Cheyenne County Hospital Association and the Regional West Medical Center.
