1972 to 2016

Michael Andrew “Andy” Grant Jr., of Lodgepole, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016. Andy was born in Boulder, Colo. to Linda Sue Carlstedt on March 22, 1972. He attended Liberty High School in Joes, Colo. and Burlington High School in Burlington, Colo.

A celebration of life will be held on April 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Community Center in Vona, Colo. We request your presence to share memories of Andy. Finger foods will be provided. Andy’s final resting place will be at the Vona Cemetery.

Andy’s final arrangements have been made possible by the generous time and donations given by family members and friends. Memorial contributions can be made in Andy’s name to the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel in Sidney.

Anyone who knew Andy knew to be prepared for his mischievous personality. It was well known that he liked to play playful pranks on everyone he knew. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, whether it be a relaxing time fishing or just hanging out playing cards. He especially liked to listen to music. Metallica, Waylon Jennings, and Lynyrd Skynyrd were his favorites, among many others. Andy was employed most of his adult life with John Deere dealerships. He started his career at McArthur Implement in Burlington, Colo. He also worked at Strasburg Equipment in Strasburg, Colo. He then went to 21st Century Equipment, working in the Ogallala and Sidney areas. He had just recently moved on from 21st Century to work for Tall Grass Energy at the Sidney (Huntsman) location.

Andy is survived by his wife, Heather; his four sons : Andrew Carson of Burlington, Colo., Isaac, Aaron, and Jamie Grant, all of Lodgepole; one daughter: Alisa Carson of Arriba, Colo. and grandson Rylan Carson also of Arriba; brothers and sisters-in-law: Misty and Mike Miller, their children Trevor Miller and Cyrus Miller, of Akron, Colo., Becky and Joe DiFiore, their children Kaitlyn White, Nolan White, Katrina White, and Grace DiFiore of Yuma, Colo.; brother in law: John Koehler of Eckley, Colo.; mother in law: Nancy Koehler of Eckley, Colo.; his aunts: Dawn, her boyfriend, Lendell, and her son, Cayden of Denver; Debbie, her husband, Mel of Sterling and their children: Tyler and Brooke; and Janet, her husband, Tony of Sterling, Colo. and their children: Cody, Luke, Tasha, and her husband, Jody; his Uncles : Clint, his wife, Laurel of Colby, Kan. and children: Miah, Mallory, Maegan, and Trystan; and Tom, his wife, Tammy of Joes, Colo. and daughters: Jordan and Taylor; his cousins, Stacey, her husband, Don of Firestone, Colo. and son, Trey; Gene of Kremmling, Colo.; great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Carlstedt; his grandmother, Shirley Jackson; grandfathers, Gene Carlstedt and Paul Jackson; his great grandparents, August and Bernice Carlstedt and Joe and Edna Doughty; his aunts: Pam Carlstedt and Debbie Abram; his uncle: Heinz Abram; and many other loved ones.
