Raiders, Human Development class is accepting toy donations for the Raiders Reaching Out project. These toys will be used as reward and rehabilitation aid for kids with conditions like cerebral palsy, autism, and Phiffer’s syndrome. Donations will be accepted Tuesday April 19 through Tuesday, April 26. Toys include rubber balls with textures like nubbies and koosh balls, toy cars especially if the hoods and doors open, blocks and legos, small cardboard books especially if they have textures, small action figures, whistles, balloons, jump ropes, blow up beach balls, lacing cards, sticker books or cards with stickers, rubber dog toys that have squeakers and/or lots of textures, dolls or stuffed toys with clothes that come on and off, pencil grips, crayons or art supplies, and pop beads or tubes. Donations can be dropped off at Points West Community Bank downtown location or the high school and Subway located on the hill. The trip to the Regional West Medical Center Pediatric Rehabilitation will take place on April 28. If you have questions please contact Brett Avila

Western Nebraska Community College Theatre presents Stop Kiss by Diana Son Apr 29 - May 1 at the WNCC Little Theatre on the Scottsbluff Campus. Stop Kiss plays Apr 29 and 30 at 7:30 p.m. and on May 1 at 2 p.m. in the WNCC Little Theatre. Saturday, April 23

The First United Methodist Church, along with the Sidney Police Department, is sponsoring a bike rodeo at the Legion Park Shelter House on April 23, from 9 to 11 am. Children can get their bike checked for the upcoming season and there will be a safety course they can ride.

The Circle the Wagons Dance, at the IOOF Hall in Gering, will be held on Saturday, April 23. All day workshops and chuck wagon dinner on Saturday. The caller will be Dave Guille and the cuer will be Steve Kline. Pre-rounds will be held from 6:30 to 7 p.m., the grand march at 7 p.m. and the dance until 9:30 p.m. Hope to see you there!

Sunday, April 24

Senior Citizen and Friends Dance will be held Cheyenne County Community Center on Sunday, April 24, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Music will be by Paul.

Tuesday, April 26

District FCE meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 26 at 9 a.m. at the visitors center with a speaker on human trafficking. Lunch, tours of museum will also be held. Call (308) 254-4965 for reservations.

The Sidney Public Library will again be offering the “Together is Fun” program on Tuesday, April 26, for youth kindergarten through 6th grade. The Instrumental Music Program at Western Nebraska Community College will host its annual community dinner and dance, Jump, Jive & Swing, Sunday, May 1 at the Gering Civic Center. There will be a cash bar and dancing throughout the evening. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. for cocktails with music provided by the WNCC Jazz Combo under the direction of WNCC saxophone instructor Austin Sailors. Tickets can be purchased in the WNCC Business Office or by calling (308) 635-6020 during normal business hours. Seating is reserved and tickets are available through April 29.

Then plan to attend A Night Of Hope Walk For Cancer’s meeting on every third Tuesday of the month, from April through August, at 5:30pm in the basement of the First United Methodist Church located at 2622 11th Ave in Sidney. Please use the north door. Anyone interested in being a part of the preparations for this year’s cancer walk or just want to learn more about what Night of Hope is all about is encouraged to attend.
