Ellen Kinney, 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, at her home in Bettendorf, IA. A graveside service in celebration of her life will be held on Friday, June 10th at the National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois at 10:00 am. Family and friends can gather by 9:30 am at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport, IA, for the procession to the National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois.

Memorials may be made to the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities in care of Weerts Funeral Home, 3625 Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport, IA 52806.

Ellen (Mary Ellen) was born in Sidney, NE on March 26, 1932, the daughter James Alexander and Evelyn Susie (Willis) Livingston. She graduated from Sidney High School in 1950, where she met her sweetheart and future husband, Dale Francis Kinney. Dale and Ellen were married on September 9, 1950 in Sidney, NE. They were married for sixty-five years, until Dale's death on April 29, 2016.

Ellen was a devoted and loyal wife and mother, a legal secretary, homemaker, and bridge enthusiast. She loved to play bridge with both her husband and friends, and taught bridge classes to many. She was very supportive of her husband and children, Jeanne, Jim, and Jeff. She was happiest when her family was all together.

Ellen will be dearly missed by her children Jeanne (Don) Cook, Bettendorf, IA; Jim (Jean) Kinney, Antioch, IL; Jeff (Pam) Kinney, Chicago, IL; five grandchildren, Amanda Cook, Brad (Kristyn) Cook, Chris (Christine) Cook, Andrew Kinney, Joe Kinney; and two great-grandchildren, Davis and Carson Cook. She is also survived by a sister, Jeanne Walker, TX.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, her parents, and her husband of sixty-five years. They are back together again.
