Sidney Public Library announces winner

Over the summer the Sidney Public Library held it's annual adult reading series. The program coincided with the youth reading program in an effort to promote the library.

With summer drawing to a close and school starting in August this years program ended with the announcement of the winner from the youth and adult reading programs.

Librarian Vickie Morlock said the adult reading program has been a part of the library's schedule for thirty years.

During the summer months when an adult reader would check a book out, they would receive a small entry form, said Morlck. When they read the book, and came to the library to return it, they turned in the filled out entry form and were entered into a drawing.

At the end of the summer reading program a winner was drawn out of the entries, the winner this year was Nancy Liess.

Liess said she has always had a passion for reading, her go-to book genre is mystery.

"We run the summer reading program concurrently with the school year," Morlock said.

During the fall and winter months the library offers a variety of different programs, said Morlock. From crafts to classes there is always something the library is offering all ages to the community.
