Carol (Fastenau) Hanneman, 79 of Sutherland, Nebraska and former Cheyenne County resident died late Wednesday evening, August 17, 2016 at the Great Plains Medical Center in North Platte.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2016 in the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney, with Pastor Leon "Bud" Gillespie officiating. Burial will follow in the Dalton Cemetery.
Memorials have been established to the Grace Lutheran Church in Sutherland, Ne.
Visitation will be held at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney on Thursday from 1 to 7 p.m.

Carol Louise Hanneman, the daughter of Adolf Bernard and Rene Ruth (Miller) Fastenau was born February 27, 1937 at Sidney , Ne. She grew up on a farm west of Gurley, Nebraska. She attended a ruralgrade school,Center School,before graduating from Gurley High School in 1955. She attended Midland Lutheran College for one year. She was confirmed in the Grace Lutheran Church of Gurley.
On September 6, 1958 she married Phillip Hanneman. They moved to California in 1962 when Phil was in the military. They divorced in 1970. She worked for Bank of America, Torrey Pines Bank, and Vision West. She moved back to Nebraska in 1996 and retired in 1997.
Carol was amember of the Grace Lutheran Church in Sutherland. She enjoyed cross stitching and traveling, until ill health prevented her from doing this.
Survivors include two sons: Todd and wife Belinda Hanneman of Sutherland, Ne and Christopher and wife Gina Hanneman of Temecula, Ca; one brother Douglas and wife Chris Fastenau of Sutherland; four grandchildren: Cody, Ashley, Angelina and Matthew Hanneman, 3 step-children Anthony, Thomas and Christina Rowley; one great granddaughter Ainsley Marie Hanneman, one niece, one nephew and a host of other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Terris Fastenau.
Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Sidney is serving the Hanneman family.
